My Switch
It was the last day of summer before I started 4th Grade. I had an orientation at my school so I got to see my friends. I was so excited. As much as I love the hot, crispy summer days, I couldn't wait to see my friends.
We were at orientation for about an hour. I had Ms.Huff as my teacher. I wanted to get her. She seemed really nice. I got a list of supplies that I needed and we were off.
When we were just about to leave, my mom's phone rang."Yes, yes of course. We'll be right there," is all I could hear. After my mom hung up, we were of to La Jolla.
I figured out that a kid didn't show up and I got in! I was really nervous. I didn't want to change schools, I wanted to stay at Warren Walker with my friends.
When we got to Explorer, I got to meet the principal, Jill Green. She talked to my mom about stuff I didn't know at the time. She told me that I was going to be in Ms. Adams class.
She took my mom and I to room 8, where Ms. Adams taught. When I walked into the room, everybody turned and looked at me. The lights were off in the small room. The only light came from the windows and the projector, that was filled with numbers. Ms. Adams welcomed me and we went to morning meeting. I got to participate in their morning circle but was disappointed when we had to leave. My mom told me that I would be going to school here, so I calmed down.
Looking back at my switch, I think it was a very good choice. All of the nice friends and teachers that I met along the way.

This is a test
This is an excellent story, filled with imagery and emotion. You are drawn in to the drama of the phone call and the fear and hesitation one feels leaving a comfortable situation and being forced into unfamiliar surroundings.
